Sing, Listen, Interact, Create, and...Eat!
SLICE is currently on hiatus.
What is SLICE FAMILY NIGHT?
SLICE FAMILY NIGHT is basically a 'slice' of everything that goes on at Art on the Corner -- everything from drum circles to family crafts, from being captivated by a master storyteller to an old-fashioned sing-a-long. SLICE FAMILY NIGHT is designed for families, the young to the young-at-heart, with the intent of inspiring the entire family to engage in 'play' with each other. It is not a 'drop off the kids' event; it is not a 'sit back and converse with other adults while the kids play' event; it is not an 'I'll sit on the side and watch what's going on while checking my e-mail/scrolling through Facebook posts/playing games on my cell' event -- you get the idea! Everyone is strongly encouraged, dare we say...expected, to interact and participate with their family members.
What can I expect at a SLICE FAMILY NIGHT?
SLICE FAMILY NIGHT begins with a simple, kid-friendly meal [usually pizza, veggies, snacks & juice] at 5:45 p.m. At 6:30 p.m., a 45-60 minute family-interactive, engagingly creative activity/workshop led by an artist/specialist follows. After the fun, we'll wrap-up and clean-up -- everyone helps! Everyone will be on their way home between 7:30-8:00 p.m.
When & where do SLICE FAMILY NIGHT events take place?
SLICE FAMILY NIGHT events take place once a month, on the third Friday of the month, September 2014 through May 2015. Unless noted otherwise, all events take place in the Soul Cafe of Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 7420 Fourth Avenue [corner of Bay Ridge Parkway/75th St.] Enter through the second set of RED doors. Follow the signs!
